Oh boy, it’s time for a FAT article today. It’s your boy Dijon and welcome backity back. One Piece is the GOAT. The end. We all know this show is huge, so I thought, “Let’s give every arc an MVP This definitely won’t take a lot of time.” I know I’ll have a lot of fun with this one so let’s begin at the very start with the first One Piece MVP.

Romance Dawn Arc – Shanks

It was a toss-up for me between Shanks and Rika. Who is Rika you might ask? She’s the girl who fed Zoro when he got captured by the Marines. What a boss moment from her. Unfortunately, I think it’s a blowout for Shanks because of his sacrifice for Luffy. I mean the dude literally loses his arm for this drowning boy. Romance Dawn MVP has to go to Shanks.

Orange Town Arc – Roronoa Zoro

roronoa-zoro

This was a toss-up between Zoro and Luffy. Zoro takes the MVP for Orange Town due to him saving Luffy from getting killed by Buggy. Also, he had to get to Orange Town and find Luffy alone. For not getting lost, that is a FAT W by Zoro. He then picks up Luffy inside a stone cage that MAYBE weighs more than your mother and carries Luffy to safety. All while getting dealt a hefty stab wound by Buggy. It’s a Zoro MVP.

Syrup Village Arc – Usopp

usopp

Honestly, I feel like this one could go to any of the Straw Hats. For Nami’s contribution, she tossed Zoro his swords that he dropped while fighting the Meowban/Nyaban Brothers, but she also trapped Zoro at the bottom of the oily pathway for a fat minute. As for Luffy, he took out Captain Kuro, but his job is always to take out the main villain. Moving on to Zoro, he fought off the Meowban Brothers and helped Usopp stop Michael Jackson, AKA Jango, from diddling another kid. Overall, Usopp gets the One Piece MVP sticker because he fought off Kuro and his crew alone for a bit, and then took out Jango to save Kaya.

Baratie Arc – Sanji

sanji-one-piece-mvp

Another close entry. This time Black Foot Sanji scoops it up. I thought about giving it to Zoro considering his fight with Mihawk. This was also the first time we saw Zoro call Luffy the Pirate King which was awesome. However, Sanji did a lot of things during Baratie. Considering it’s his introduction arc, that makes sense. He fed Gin which kind of backfired, but I still respect Sanji’s decision. Also, Sanji had to fight Pearl and Gin back to back. Following that, he saved Luffy from drowning at the end. Ultimately, I have to give it to Sanji with Zoro right behind him.

Arlong Park Arc – Luffy

luffy-saves-nami

After 5 arcs, Luffy FINALLY gets MVP for one of them. I really enjoyed learning more about Luffy in this arc. He fell asleep during Nojiko’s story about Bellemiere because he didn’t need a reason to save Nami and the village. Luffy practically knew what he had to do because he trusted Nami. She just won’t admit it though. It was dope seeing Nami ask Luffy for help because all she had to do was ask. We all know what happens after the walk to Arlong Park. That is why Luffy is the MVP of the arc.

Loguetown Arc – Monkey D. Dragon

monkey-d-dragon

This is the only correct answer for Loguetown. With Luffy practically at Death’s door, he had absolutely no way out. At first, we didn’t know how Luffy survived his execution by Buggy, and who saved Luffy from Smoker. Until Dragon stepped in, at least he did for the second half… We still don’t know if luck saved Luffy from Buggy or if Dragon has a hidden Devil Fruit. Either way, Luffy would have been a goner had Dragon not saved him from Smoker, so the MVP goes to Dragon.

Reverse Mountain Arc – Monkey D. Luffy

monkey-d-luffy

Honestly, no one really deserves the One Piece MVP award for this arc, but if I had to pick it would be Luffy. He stopped Laboon from slamming his head against the wall, and that’s all he needed to do to take the MVP. No one else really did anything of substance and saving Laboon is something everyone wanted to see, especially looking back at this arc from where the series is now. On a side note, Crocus has a decent reason to be MVP too because he gifts Nami a Log Pose (that breaks immediately) and tells her the secrets about sailing the Grand Line. In the end, MVP goes to Luffy. That’s 2 now.

Whisky Peak Arc – Zoro

roronoa-zoro-in-whiskey-peak

Again, another clear winner for MVP. This time it’s for Zoro. I mean this guy must have been taking notes from Ninja on how to win battle royales because he definitely dropped like a 50 bomb. He took out all of Baroque Works on his own even after getting drunk just before the showdown. There’s nothing else to discuss here. MVP of Whisky Peak is Zoro.

Little Garden Arc – Sanji

sanji-one-piece-mvp

Hear me out on this one if you don’t agree. This is where Mr. Prince is born. Sanji stumbles upon Mr. 3’s hideout in Little Garden and is able to stop Baroque Work reinforcements from coming. He tells Mr. 0, AKA Crocodile, that everything is just fine and that Luffy has been dealt with. That’s pretty much all he does. Luffy and Usopp were the other two picks I had in mind. Let’s be real though, the stakes for their fights might have been high, but the difficulty of the fights was pretty low.

Drum Island Arc – Monkey D. Luffy

luffy-one-piece-mvp

Luffy climbed the big mountain. THE END. Give him his 3rd One Piece MVP so far.

Alabasta Arc – Sanji

mr-prince

This is just Sanji tossing himself an alley-oop from Little Garden and dunking on Crocodile in Alabasta. Mr. Prince makes his triumphant return to save Luffy, Nami, Zoro, Vivi, and even Smoker from drowning in Crocodile’s trap. Still, I could see this MVP going to Bon Clay or even Pell. For me, the hype factor of Mr. Prince is what takes it. This gives Sanji his 3rd MVP.

Jaya Arc – Monkey D. Luffy

luffy-punches-bellamy

Jaya is filled with some juicy lore about the One Piece world, so not a lot happens other than that. However, the moment with Luffy, Zoro, and Nami in the bar was pretty cool to see. Luffy restrained himself from fighting back against someone there was no need to fight. Later, Luffy teaches that same pirate, Bellamy, a lesson for messing with a person’s hopes and dreams. Bellamy gets ABSOLUTELY obliterated by Luffy in one punch and that’s that. Number 4 of Luffy’s MVPs.

Skypeia Arc – Sanji

sanji-one-piece-mvp

Again, I am a sucker for clutch moments. Is it bad that I give it to Sanji based on one moment during the entire arc? Yeah, most likely. Do I care? No. Considering Usopp already took a huge hit right before, Usopp would have likely been killed by Enel had Sanji not stepped in. Another pick here would be Robin. She found the Poneglyph on Skypeia, but am I really going to give it to Robin because she can read the lost language? Then I would have to give the MVP every time she reads (just kidding, she did a W in Skypeia for finding it alone). In the end, Sanji takes it for me.

Long Ring Long Land Arc – Monkey D. Luffy

luffy-in-long-ring

Everyone’s favorite arc is here. Long Ring Long Land Ping Pong Fong Fand has so many hype moments to choose from. Like Foxy… Other than those moments, the best would have to be Afro Luffy because it’s Luffy with an afro. Easy dub for Luffy. MVP number 5 for him.

Water 7 Arc – Sanji

sanji-in-water-7

I don’t know what to say. I am totally biased for clutch players like Sanji. He snuck onto the Sea Train to follow Robin, and he ends up saving Franky and Sogeking from CP9. Also, his fight with Wanze was very cool due to Sanji wielding swords. Unfortunately, this might be the last of Sanji’s MVPs.

Enies Lobby – Going Merry

going-merry-one-piece-mvp

EASILY the MVP of Enies Lobby. The Going Merry saves the crew from getting annihilated by the Buster Call. By the grace of the Gods, Merry exceeded her time here on One Piece Earth. With one final hurrah, she managed to shock everyone reading and watching. RIP Merry, we still think about you to this day. The MVP belongs to you.

Post-Enies Lobby Arc – Iceberg, Franky, and Galley-La

iceberg-and-franky

This is the first and last time I will give a TRIPLE MVP. Similarly to Jaya, Post-Enies Lobby is all about lore and plot. Nothing flashy happens, so it goes to Iceberg, Franky, and Galley-La for building the Thousand Sunny. Without a boat, how the hell is Luffy going to be the Pirate King? MVP for them all.

Thriller Bark Arc – Roronoa Zoro

zoro

For some reason, I was sitting here thinking about who the MVP of Thriller Bark could possibly be. Everyone did so much. Then it hit me. How could I have forgotten the most epic thing of all in One Piece? Nothing. Happened. For that, Zoro deserves the MVP.

Sabaody Archipelago Arc – Bartholomew Kuma

kuma-bartholomew-one-piece-mvp

For Sabaody Archipelago, it was between Luffy and Kuma. In the grand scheme of things, Kuma has to take it for giving out spankings for each Straw Hat. Without the spankings, the Straw Hats would have never learned the lesson and grown stronger after getting spanked. Spanking MVP is Kuma for sure.

Amazon Lily Arc – Monkey D. Luffy

luffy-in-amazon-lily

I guess Luffy is the only one that really deserves it here. Maybe Boa Hancock could also take the MVP because she decides to help Luffy free Ace. However, Luffy had to fight his way to get Hancock to help him in the first place. My boy got sexually assaulted too, so I would feel bad if anyone else got the MVP.

Impel Down Arc – Bon Clay (Mr. 2)

bon-clay-mr-2

Without Bon Clay, Luffy and the rest would have been captured again and sent to Impel Down. Bon Clay disguised himself as Hannyabal and opened the Impel Down gates, sacrificing himself for Luffy and the others. Before that, he also never left Luffy’s side while he recovered from his fight with Magellan which is just bonus points. Bon Clay takes the MVP for Impel Down.

Marineford Arc – Monkey D. Luffy

luffy-vs-admirals

Honestly, MVP for Marineford can go to a handful of people. Ivankov and Jinbe supported and fended off enemies for Luffy to reach Ace. On the other hand, I just can’t give it to Ivankov because he didn’t turn Crocodile back into Luffy’s mom. Also, Whitebeard and Marco fighting off the admirals was pretty cool. However, Luffy was a huge underdog going into the war. He kept shmooving and fighting to get to Ace which he did.

Post-War Arc – Jinbe

jinbe-saves-luffy

Jinbe is a beast in the Post-War Arc. While Luffy was rampaging after remembering Ace’s death, Jinbe stopped Luffy from killing himself. He got Luffy back on track and helped him create a plan. Because of this, he remembers he still has the friends he made during his journey. Without a doubt, the One Piece MVP is Jinbe.

Return to Sabaody Arc – Bartholomew Kuma

bartholomew-kuma

I’m kind of thinking outside the box here a little. For 2 years, Kuma stayed by the Thousand Sunny to defend it from other pirates. Also, Return to Sabaody is a short arc, and no one really does anything of great importance. That’s why I am giving this MVP to Kuma.

Fishman Island Arc – Monkey D. Luffy

luffy-in-fishman-island

Don’t be too surprised if Luffy ends up being the MVP for the rest of the series. After the time skip, One Piece seems to shift more towards Luffy, so the rest of the crew has less focus. During Fishman Island, Luffy saved Shirahoshi from Vander Decken, defeated Hody Jones, and declared Fishman Island under the Straw Hats protection. No one else even comes close. MVP is given to Luffy, again.

Punk Hazard Arc – Trafalgar Law

trafalgar-law-one-piece-mvp

This is where we all fall in love with Law. Looking back at Punk Hazard, there isn’t much anyone besides him and Luffy putting in work. Law ends up taking Smoker’s heart, forming an alliance with Luffy, and defeating Vergo while destroying the Punk Hazard lab. MVP goes to Law for sure.

Dressrosa Arc – Usopp

usopp-in-dressrosa

There’s a reason this man is dubbed “GOD USOPP.” He basically saved all of Dressrosa TWICE by taking out Sugar. Why do you think Doflamingo gave Usopp the highest bounty and not Luffy? Usopp was a HUGE threat to Doflamingo. Mans gave a child (who isn’t actually a child) PTSD with no hesitation. That is what an MVP does.

Zou Arc – All Minks

minks-one-piece-mvp

Ok, I might have lied about Luffy being the MVP of every arc after Fishman Island. During Zou, we learn that the Minks lied about the WHEREABOUTS of a certain fellow. Then we learned that they endured poisonous gas for days just to protect Raizo. I remember tears dropping from my face during the reveal. Every Mink deserves the MVP for this arc.

Whole Cake Island – Brook

brook-one-piece-mvp

Brook deserves the love here. As much as Luffy did during Whole Cake Island, Brook did the unthinkable by SLEEPING WITH BIG MOM. Not a virgin. He also goes on to steal a Road Poneglyph and breaks Mother Caramel’s portrait which sends Big Mom into a frenzy. To be honest, a lot of characters in Whole Cake Island did crazy things, but I want to give this MVP to Brook.

Levely Arc – Mjosgard/Dragon

mjosgard

This one is tough to choose since Levely Arc is just an exposition dump for us. However, two important events occurred that I was drawn to. Mjosgard for hitting Charlos for trying to take Shirahoshi as his own property, and Dragon for declaring war on the World Nobles. Both actions are huge because if Mjosgard had not stopped Charlos then Shirahoshi would be controlled by the World Nobles. Similarly, Dragon’s declaration of war is important because this will directly impact everyone. I think both deserve MVPs.

Wano Country Arc – Monkey D. Luffy

luffy-in-wano

It just makes sense for Luffy to take the MVP here. And yes, it is mostly because of him defeating Kaido. Zooming out for a second, Luffy ended two decades of endless agony for the people of Wano. He also turned One Piece into Looney Tunes. Luffy takes the MVP for Wano.

Overall MVP – Monkey D. Luffy

luffy-overall-one-piece-mvp

The overall One Piece MVP is none other than Luffy. What did you expect? He is the main character. Interestingly, Sanji had many things going for him in the first half of the series. Things could have played out differently if he had more time after the time skip. For now, Luffy is clearly the overall One Piece MVP.

Until Next Time

I hope you guys enjoyed One Piece MVP of Each Arc. This took a fat minute to make. So thank you for reading and stay sexy my friends.
