There are no terrible One Piece arcs. However, some are better than others (I’m looking at you East Blue). These are the worst One Piece arcs in the entire story. Let me know what you guys think.
Syrup Village Arc
The Syrup Village Arc is definitely one of the worst arcs in One Piece. It felt like it lasted a few episodes too long and the antagonist, Kuro, was pretty awful as well. Kuro’s entire plot sounded incredibly dumb. He spent three years in Syrup Village to gain trust there, but if he planned to kill everyone anyway then why spend that much time there? I know he planned to be peaceful, but he REALLY had a bad way of showing that in the arc. Also, I know it was the beginning of the show but the fights weren’t that great either.
Orange Town Arc
Another East Blue arc. This time it features Buggy the Clown in Orange Town. Honestly, this arc was pretty decent, but compared to all of One Piece it was weaker just due to how early it was. It didn’t have anything that was bad about it, but it wasn’t great either. When I think of One Piece, I think of how unique the island is and how deeply written characters can be. This was missing in Orange Town. Sure there was a Shanks connection to Buggy, but that was fleshed out later. Also, Orange Town was just a regular town in the East Blue making it kind of bland. I will say that Chou Chou the dog was awesome.
Little Garden Arc
I bet it feels pretty weird seeing this Arc here considering the manga is in Elbaph. Dorry and Broggy, the giants, were by far the best things to come from Little Garden. Also, the birth of Mr. Prince was awesome too. Everything else felt so slow and Mr. 3 being the antagonist was honestly really bad. The fact that Luffy struggled to beat Mr. 3 when all he needed was one good punch to the face pissed me off. Wasn’t everyone pretty useless this arc or is it just me? Anyway, Little Garden has to be on this list.
Whiskey Peak
I don’t like hating on my boy Oda but Whiskey Peak felt like a fever dream. A lot of random things happened in this arc. Some were cool, while others were like what the heck? Zoro ended up taking care of all the Baroque Works agents and then later fought against Luffy. Then at the end, Miss Wednesday is revealed to be the Vivi, princess of Alabasta. If you weren’t aware, Oda didn’t plan for that at first. Just a wonky arc overall to set the tone of the Alabasta saga.
Long Ring Long Land
I know this is the most disliked arc in all of One Piece. I don’t think it was that bad considering it forshadowed a lot of what was going to happen in Water7/Enies Lobby. Also, I think it was pretty cool watching the Straw Hat crew do little mini-games. I placed it on this list because it doesn’t really add anything to the overall story of One Piece. Maybe the davy backfight will return towards the end of the series but we currently don’t know. Also, Foxy and his crew weren’t the most memorable, but I hope to see them again.
